Inspired by Disney...

  •

The inspiration for this blog came to me while watching Disney's “Atlantis: The Lost Empire” with my children. It made me reflect upon the many movies that touch on New Age thought. Healing crystals, love energy, lost civilizations, the divine feminine energy; the list goes on. I applaud this integration of ideas, although it saddens me to think that it needs to be hidden, either on purpose by the creators of these masterpieces, or sub-consciously by their inner voice and wisdom, in order to make it to mainstream entertainment. These concepts should never have been stifled, nor should the Truth have ever been used as a tool to gain power, money, and control. The Truth belongs to everyone, not just to a select few. The Truth is simple: We are Light, We are Love, We are Divine, We are One.

As mentioned in one of my earlier articles, we enter the world with the capacity only to love; all other emotions, thought patterns, and behaviors are learned as we grow, such as hatred, prejudice, judgmental tendencies, feelings of inadequacy, and so on. Studies show that most of this learning occurs prior to the age of five, but continues to happen over the whole of childhood and into adulthood, which is why it is so crucial as parents, grandparents, teachers, leaders, and other members of society with an influence upon children, to begin to learn and teach this new love-based way of living, so that, in time, humanity will remember its true form. Should you be interested in learning more about this way of thinking, a great place to start is to learn about the Universal Laws. There are countless Laws, but only a small number of them are known to us yet, either because we have not yet come to need them, or because we are not ready to understand them.

The basic Universal Laws are simple, yet they remain an esoteric topic to many Human Beings. For instance, the Law of Cause and Effect ensures that to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Simply put, everything you do will eventually come back to you in order to create balance. This was illustrated by Albert Einstein, but has been in existence since infinity, and will remain in existence until infinity. This Universal Law, more widely known as Karma, is present in nearly every major religion, and has been proclaimed by many philosophers in one form or another:

    • Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” - Christianity
    • One should not treat others... in ways one would not like to be treated.” - Hinduism
    • "Do not do to your neighbor what you would take ill from him." - Pittacus
    • "Do not do to others what would anger you if done to you by others." - Isocretes
    • "One should never do wrong in return, nor mistreat any man, no matter how one has been mistreated by him." - Socrates
    • Consider others as yourself.” - Buddhism

The Law of Attraction is also touched by these wise words: it is one of the most powerful Universal Laws, and has become very popular over the last few years, thanks to books and movies like “The Secret”. I recommend watching it, because it beautifully outlines what the Law of Attraction is, and how to use it to manifest healthy relationships, and an abundant life. Everything you say, do, or think is made up of energy; that energy attracts more of the same kind of energy, which, in turn, attracts more of that energy. So, if all of your thoughts are positive, and are focused on an abundant, happy life, you will attract exactly that in the physical world. Now, imagine what would happen if your thoughts were always negative, worrying and fearing the worst every day. Be optimistic, trust, and have faith, and you will manifest your every desire.

This entry only begins to touch on two of the many Universal Laws; I encourage you to seek more information for yourself, and not rely solely on my interpretation of them.  Perhaps I will dedicate future entries to further exploring them in depth.  There is a wonderful book called "The Life You Were Born to Live" by Dan Millman; it outlines many of the Universal Laws (or Laws of Spirit, as some call them), and also is a great source of wisdom concerning Numerology and Birth Numbers.

There is much to be learned from ancient belief systems, provided they remain unadulterated by modern dogma, and by the influence of misguided religious leaders, both past and present. In the process of honoring the lessons we learn from them, we learn to turn inward, and also honor the Light within. There is no right or wrong way to connect with Spirit, nor must you attend certain services or visit sanctioned places in order to open that connection. You are an extension of the Divine, and as such, you have an unbreakable and constant bond with Spirit, giving you continuous support and love. Open your arms and feel the energy flowing into you and through you, and feel your Truth within you.

    In Love and Light,

    Kath
