Jesus Speaks: What It Means To Me

  •

There are many things we know for certain about the bible. It has been translated and altered several times, this is provable. It has been the cornerstone of several different branches of religion: Judaism, Catholicism, Christianity (and all of its various sects), etc. Each of these different “faiths” interpret the Bible differently, each takes different lessons from its parables and prophecies. I cannot in all honesty place myself within any certain “faith” or religion because what I believe and what I have taken out of the Bible (and other ancient writings) is not encompassed in any given “faith” or religion. In this blog and in others to come I will endeavor to lay out certain scriptures for you in the way that I perceive them. I do not expect you to agree with all of my interpretations, I welcome differences as they give me a chance to further my own knowledge : ) That being said though, understand that I choose that which my Spirit believes is correct and reject anything else. Your way may not be correct for me, that don’t mean that it isn’t correct for you however! : )

What I will work with will be the recorded sayings of Christ. I will not be discussing the words of the disciples or anyone else for that matter unless it is in direct relation to a teaching of Christ. It is very important to KNOW who said what. If it was not said by CHRIST then it is the opinion of another and subject to folly. So let’s get started!! : )

Many of you who know me well know that I speak of the Light often; I have been referred to and have referred to myself as a Light worker. The website that I am building is called Ancient Order of Light. I have been told by several that I am wrong for this, that I shouldn’t refer to myself as a Light worker nor of working in the Light because Christ himself was the Light and not us. I wish to speak to this directly in order to refute it.

Matthew 5:14-16  14 “You are the Light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. “ 15 “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives Light to all who are in the house. 16 “Let your Light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

This is repeated to some degree in several of the Gospels. Christ himself called us to shine the Light that is within us so then how can I be wrong for dedicating my life to serve the Light
