The last words of Chopper

  • It was the summer of 1989 and the streets of L.A. were crazy! I was not yet saved and as far as I was concerned, I was the last one to ever think that the name Jesus would come outa my mouth. I was a runnaway, and wanted as such, I was 17 years old and looking to belong. When I got there, I thought that my life would be full of palm trees, and hot sun.  The first few days I was caught in a dispute between rival gang members that ended up with a man hanging on for his life. I was too scared to back off, but too scared to keep up my front as a tough guy. The only choice I had at this time, was to show this gang that I was willing to do what I had to do to survive. I received 26 stitches in my head and a knife wound to my stomach, Little did I know that the fifght that almost ended my life, ended up making me a known soldier in the West Coast "DD TRIPP" Crips. I was now a known enforcer, and wasnt even a member of the gang. I was never "Blessed" into the gang, they just accepted me, and I was loyal to them in every aspect. Ive seen the death of many friends, Ive seen the back end of a drug deal that went wrong, and Ive seen the inside of many jails in my lifetime.

The only way I can describe my first time hearing about my lord and savior Jesus Christ, is by explaining that I was not a very polite person at this time. I trusted only a handful of people in my life, and this preacher wasnt one of them! As I look back, I shed tears for my actions, and for a long time, I had no idea WHY i stopped to help this guy out..Why didnt i just walk away?

As a christian, I know that God put his hand on my heart, and forced my eyes open. My life was touched, and there was nothing I could do now.  Trent Morris was going to die at the hands of one of the most ruthless gangbangers in the nation of Crips. I saw the gun in his mouth and the look in kokies eyes. I could have walked away, and let this happen, Its part of life on these streets, noone would look any way about it, But God put this on me and I ran with it! I was able to vouch for Trent, and although I received some bad looks, His life was saved and he was able to walk away...this time!

I was asked by Trent to meet him at his hotel that next day. I reluctantly went, and I praise the lord every day that I did...It was Trents turn to save MY life!

MORE TO COME>>>>>I give all credit to my lord and savior Jesus Christ..Father I give myselfe to you, and I praise your holy name! Through your sacrifice, and blood, I am clean, and forgiven for my sins, I ask that you lay your hands on those that have yet to know your wonderful touch! I ask this in your name  ...Amen
