Many horrible wars have been fought because of religion. Much persecution, misery, and suffering have occurred because of religion.
All religion -- whatever it is called -- is evil.
Why?
Religion is inspired by the evil one, satan, to keep man from truly knowing God by receiving His gift of eternal life, which is in Jesus Christ.
Religion is man's attempt to be right with God -- which is impossible for man no matter how hard he tries.
Religion is evil because it keeps mankind from finding out the real truth. It makes you think you already have the truth.
Religion keeps people busy, trying to do their best to please God, but it will never be good enough.
Whatever religion you belong to -- Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Jewish, Humanist, Atheist, or even Christianity -- will not change your heart and get you to Heaven when you die.
Only Jesus can deliver you and give you new life. No religion can!
When someone receives Jesus Christ, they become a new person!
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 NKJ
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Jesus Christ does not cause people to fight and go to war. He brings peace, and love for others, into a person's heart when they receive Him.
1 JOHN 3:14-15 NKJ
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
If you have eternal life inside you, you will not hate others and want to see them hurt.
The only answer for the world today is eternal life -- which is the very life and nature of God. The only way to receive eternal life is by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ.
ROMANS 6:23 NKJ
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In every religion, there are things you must do to be right. But God, in the person of Jesus Christ, already did what was necessary for you to be right. Now, all you must do is accept His gift!
JOHN 3:16-17 NKJ
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
The gift of right standing and eternal life comes packaged in a Person -- Jesus Christ. You receive Him by acknowledging that you choose Him.
For example, you could say: Lord Jesus, I receive You now. Thank You for forgiving all my sins and giving me Your eternal life. Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ!
