Why Is It?

  • Why is it that when you go to a new church, people always want you to praise God the way they do? Or if you do not act a certian way, you must not be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I have always been taught that how you praise God from your heart. That you do not have to do it the way everyone else does. Am I wrong for thinking that Our Father God, created us as individuals. I mean if he wanted everyone to look and act the same; He would have created us as carbon copies, right?

Lateley I have been struggling with the fact that how I praise God is not good enough for some. Because I do not jump around and shout, or because I sing how I am lead to while I praise God, suddenly I am not praising Him properly.

I have even been told that I say I know about the Holy Spirit, yet my actions for praising Him don't line up. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that a judgement?

I feel in my heart if how I am praising God was wrong He would tell me. After all God does talk to us. I will contuine to praise God. Nothing no how will ever stop that. No one no way will ever stop that.

I am wondering if I should tell the Pastor of this church, that by telling someone how they praise is wrong; that she could be making people of lesser faith and strength not want to praise God? Any thoughts a views on this subject would be appreciated greatly.
