Obeying Authority

  •

Romans 13:1-2 "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves."

We need to obey the people who are in authority over us. When we rebel against or disobey authority we are actually rebelling against God. All who are in authority come from God. God did not put them there to control us. Instead, He put them there to punish wrong and protect the good. Our obedience to the laws of the land serves as a witness to God. We also need to pray for those in authority, that they get saved and obey God's Word. Show God you love Him by respecting authority. May the love of the lord be with you always. Amen!

Mark Sweeney homo sapiens -> homo obediens? Sapiens means Wisdom, capable of. Why make that go poof? Wisdom good! [But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5)]

Fr. Michael Toeniskoetter I agree brother. Respect and obedience are things that aren't being taught today and you can clearly tell by the way society is acting and what we see on tv and the radio. Keep up the good work and God bless!
