Salvation; A free gift?....What the Bible really says

  • Written by Michael Braae

Romans 6:23 is yet another verse of the Bible that has been used to create the impression that salvation is available to everyone without any prior repentance, obedience of commitments whatsoever. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."....

Problems typically arise with verses such as this due to the total disregard of everything that was said before and after it. The original intent and context are then lost through distortion...thus giving birth to another false doctrine. And to make matters worse in this case, the eternal life is simple a gift from God that only requires receiving! ....

what Charisma is. God made a way through a line of people who were previously Gentiles, [Acts 15:14] made a covenant with them and in exchange for keeping His statutes He gave them knowledge of Him. Fellowship and Blessings [Romans 9:4, 3:2] with the express intent that through this people salvation would be offered to all mankind. [Genesis 12:3, 22:18] By Gods own son, Jesus the Messiah. [Romans 5:21]....! See? ...     saying that Salvation is unconditional, as some have implied. What he's saying is...that God was not obligated to offer salvation        But the word 'Gift' in this verse is the Greek word 'Charisma', which doesn't really mean 'Gift' or 'Free' gift; [as it is translated in Romans 5:15, 16] in the way we think. The author of this letter, the Apostle Paul, is

unconditional.....he mentions obtaining 'The Gift' of eternal life. [Romans 6:1-22] Yes...look and examine the letter for yourselves and you will see...salvation is God to obtain righteousness comes ! Notice that all of his admonishments to exercise self-control over sinful lusts and his direction to that ...read the other 22 verses of chapter 6, where Paul ways        Please allow me to suggest this one thing...before you blindly accept some preachers word for

the freedom to sin at will and then receive forgiveness through a little prayer. If this is what you've been taught, you've been taught an error. This is the doctrine of demise. [See Hebrews 10:26-29]....       Similarly, another false doctrine has been created out of the concept of Gods 'Grace' by those who claim to be "in the know"...who else...well meaning Christians. It has been given a misleading definition that is applied to a variety of circumstances with a single definition..."Gods unmerited favor". This is a very terrible mistake as well as a gross oversimplification and distortion that again give the impression that there are no requirements to receiving or maintaining salvation, when the Bible clearly say's otherwise. For 'Grace' is

through obedience. Salvation and obedience are so inextricably linked, they form one of the most common, consistent themes of the Bible. [John 8:51, John 14:15-24, I John 3:6-10, Ect...] [ Modern "Ministers" don’t want to tell you these things because if salvation isn't 'Free' and easy, nobody will fill up their pews [and collections plates] and then would not be able to buil their 'mega-church', drive fancy cars or maintain a fleet of air-craft for "The Ministry." [2 Tim 4:3]]....the Disciples] say the exact same thing that Jesus said repeatedly...that salvation comes singled out verse, you’ll see that John, [and . And 1 John 1:9 does not give a license to sin. Once again...if you read before and after, that sin must be Judged and punished, unless it is atoned for

their families; Num 16:1-35, Miriah; Num 12-10-15, the Israelites from Egypt; Num 14:22,23, Annanias & Saphira; Acts 5:1-10, King Herod; Acts 12:23 and even Moses was judges & punished; Num 20:10-12]....simply overlook it and continue to forgive. The examples in His word are numerous and unmistakable, dealing with the unrighteous and the righteous as well. [Nabab & Abiho; Lev 10-1-3, Korah, 250 princes 'put-away' international sin as He did with King David, [2 Samuel 12:10-23, I Chronicles 21:8-30] or as He did with the Apostle Paul, [ 2 Corinthians 11:24-27] through judgment and punishment...but if you persist in tempting the Lord by committing intentional sin, He will        Now...God

for forgiveness in any of these cases...such sins against God are not covered in O.T Law or in the N.T, neither are more serious sins and these considered abominations...and Jesus didn't abolish the law [Mt 5:17,18] in some cases He made it more strict![Mt 5:17-48] But many modern representatives of the Lord like to gloss-over or avoid altogether the unpleasant aspects of Gods righteous holiness and promote only the 'Goodness' of God and all of His "Blessings", preaching false doctrines that paint a picture of a benevolent sugar-daddy in the sky...a God who is now accessible through new-age systems and formulas. [read Mt. 7:21-23] Jesus is talking to church-goers.....       Notice how God didn't instruct anyone to sacrifice a goat or

! [John 4:10]....! The "Gift" is; toward it is obedience. Righteousness and Holiness? [Eph. 1:4, Heb. 12:14, Num 15:40] And you'll recall that John the Baptist never said, “come as you are", or "be baptized and repent whenever you get around to it." Because salvation is conditional, and the        But look...if salvation were truly 'free' in the sense that you are under no personal obligation...then why would God consistently

those who do His commandments will have the right to the Tree of Life, [Rev. 22:14] and a place in New Jerusalem.....in His word, and you will see, that        Remember...God is consistent and a God of common sense. If something seems wacky or weird, rest assured, God has nothing to do with it.

I once relied on the 'experts' and 'scholars' to receive all of my Bible education, until, that is ...I began to see some obvious errors and inconsistencies...then I began to study on my own and I soon realized that you can’t read the bible like an ordinary text book or novel. And it takes a lot of effort and dedication before you begin to develop spiritual eyes. But most people are not able to devote such long hours to study as is required before you really begin to understand Bible 'Lingo' and the consistent character of God.....

And that's where guys like me come in handy. Iv'e had a little extra time on my hands lately, and I’ve sent most of it studying the Bible. Hopefully my work will help you get t o know what the Bible really says, and then your Faith will mature...because you will know God for yourself. Don’t just take my word for anything either...and if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer if I can.....

Until next time...Vaya Con Dios Amigos...Keep reading Gods word.....
