Let the Lord be Your GPS

  • Verse:

Psalms 97:1-6 “The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him and consumes His foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory.”

Genesis 12:1 “The Lord said to Abram, 'Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.'”

These verses tie into each other... in Genesis 12:1, God tells Abram to leave everything he knows, everything he is comfortable with in his life and follow the calling of God by nothing but sheer faith. Abram did as he was told because he knew that God would keep him safe and would make sure that his family would be taken care of.

He knew this because he had faith that God was in control over everything. In Psalms 97, it says that “...the mountains melt like wax before Him...” to clear the path for the righteous in faith, so that we can do the will of our Father as He has told us to do.

So when you are feeling lost or are just unsure where your life seems to be heading, just remember as Abram did that God has traveled down this path before and knows what lies ahead. So trust in Him and let God be the “GPS” in your life today.
