Welcome to the ULC Minister's Network

spotting a spam account

  • Most of us here are legitimate enough, honest men and women called to serve in a spiritual manner, or some who just want to legally preform weddings outside of a traditional church.

There are however two other accounts types you will find here...

The first is the Spammer, here is how to recognize one

Name is nonsensical or clearly commercial in nature, AirLeVonShoes23 should send red flags!

Check also the name as it appears in the users profile link, if it looks randomly generated or follows a pattern like JimBob345 KellyMay884 etc... that's another flag

Ordained before birth or at a ridiculously young age.

Ordained before the founding of ULC, you'll have to do a little research to find this (hint, it's on the Monastery main site).

Posts Blogs chock full of hyperlinks to sales sites...

Contradictory profile information: A male named Susan... etc

When you find such an account, do not engage the owner in witty banter, odds are good the account is run by an unattended computer, instead simply report them via the report tool on the profile page of the spam account.

The second is a bit more insidious, the Scammer...

This account tries to act like a regular user but may contact you via PM, or email if you have it published, with offers of a personal or business nature.. BEWARE

Report all suspected scam attempts to ULC Admins, do not engage the scammer any more than you would the spammer.
