Welcome to the ULC Minister's Network

Therasa-Ann Reich

Hmmmm

  • I became ordained as a minister because I believe that two people should be able to marry legally, regardless of their sex, spiritual beliefs, culture, etc.

The reason that I joined the Directory was for personal growth. I want to expose myself to beliefs, ideas, cultures, and so many other concepts that I know exist.

Please understand I do NOT buy in to the rhetoric of every post or blog that I read here. I do however, find that many of the opinions that are shared on this site give me something to consider, where as I may not have ever opened my mind in that direction if I had not read it here.

Rather I agree, disagree, or laugh aloud at what I read on this site, I DO RESPECT THE FACT THAT EVERY MEMBER ON THIS SITE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION.

A friend of mine has decided to terminate his membership here; I am sad to see him go. I do not know all of the details that has lead to his decision…I imagine that he may have ruffled a few feathers.

I am sure that a number of folks also found his comments offensive. Myself, although I do not always agree with him, I have found that my friend is open to discuss (AND LISTEN) when I open a conversation on the topics that he and I do not agree on.

Offensive. This is where my problem lies. I understood this site to be a place where adults could share, learn, bond and discuss their beliefs. If it were (I) who were being offended by another, I would simply not communicate with him/her. Now I am left wondering if I have to “weigh” every word that I type…will I truly be able to garnish knowledge from this site, as I had hoped…by being a member of this site am I perpetuating the idea that “freedom” is acceptable as long as it is practiced within certain boundaries?

Mystic Angel The way I see it, is I could care less what anyone thinks. If I will not walk on egg-shells with my family, ,why would I do it here or anywhere else on the net? Say what you gotta say, if they disagree, you can continue the conversation or simply walk awa...  more

Mystic Angel Don't take it personal. There is much that can still be learned through the disagreements and conflicts, even if it is more personal lessons such as patience and understanding. I wish you the best!

Therasa-Ann Reich Thank you, Mystic Angel. Like yourself, I believe that we as adults have the ability to "change the channel" if we don't like the movie that is playing. If a person does not agree with me, I am not offended. As a matter of fact, if they are open to conver...  more
