Hung Up On 10 Commandments

  •               Many Gentiles today seem to be really hung up on the 10 commandments of the law. These are very good values to live by, a great moral guide for us. I do find it strange however that they tend to forget the other 603 laws given by Moses.

The fact of the matter is the Gentiles were never given the Law. I would recommend reading all of Acts chapter 15 but for purposes of this post I will refer to KJV Acts 15:19-20 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.

The scripture tells us that Christ came to fulfill the Law, but for grace we shall be saved. I would recommend reading all of Romans 10, but I refer to KJV Romans 10:4 For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

If one searches the scriptures we find that it is the Pharisee and Jew of that day that continually insisted that the Gentile was bound by the Law, all 613 of them, (not just 10). The disciples and the Holy Spirit did not agree.

You are correct, the Jew today does not believe any longer that the Gentile must follow the 613 Mitzvot laws. If I'm correct they refer instead to the Talmud Sanhedrin 58b, which present seven Mitzvot for no...  more

Charles Lee, Jr If you think 613 laws were hard to obey then, look at state, local and federal laws today.
Laws have been useless when it comes to bringing people back to knowing God and each other.
Laws have only taught us to find more ways to deceive and manipula...  more
