Muslims and Christians

  •              Muslims and Christians

Take away the politics on both sides, drop those with radical points of view on both sides, and look at each others beliefs with an open heart and mind and one may find that we are very much the same.

There are six basic beliefs shared by all Muslims, let us look at the similarities.

1 Muslims believe in God, the one and only one worthy of all worship, guess what so do Christians. Now I know someone is saying to themselves; "they worship Allah"  This is correct, but go to any translator, dictionary, and you find the Arabic translation of the word God is Allah and the English translation of the word Allah is God.

2 Muslims believe in Angels, again so do Christians

3 Muslims believe in the al-Quran sent by God, Christians believe the bible as divine work of God, neither one of these books teach hate and murder, as some radicals of both faiths believe.

4 Muslims believe in all Prophets and Messengers sent by God, and guess what, if it not for the exception of a very few of them, (i.e. Muhammad) most of the Prophets are the same in Christianity.

5 Muslims believe in Judgment Day (Qiyamah) and in the Resurrection and here again so do the Christians

6 Muslims believe in fate, Christians will tell you its the will of God.

In looking at the basic beliefs of our brother and sister Muslims and Christians and knowing that both sides worship the God of Abraham as the one true God, I find myself wondering what our God thinks about the insanity and hate projected to one another by both sides. This has been going on so long (thousands of years) that even scholars can not agree who started it

Maybe we as people of faith should spend a little more time worshiping this one God and a little less time finding ways to hate.

                                                                                       Just an Old Preacher's Opinion
