Law & Grace

  •    I myself do not understand many things my God has done, but as Christ said; in John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you heavenly thing?

Now as for forty years in the desert for the golden calf. It was a little more than that.

This was a time of the LAW of God, not grace. Israel murmured against God and Moses at the Red Sea, when they thirst, when hungry, and were anger towards God when Moses was on the mountain; they not only worshiped the calf but denied God as well as engaged in fortification and all forms of disobedience. During the time of the LAW it was obey or else, Moses himself learned this when he struck the rock instead of speaking to it as God had Commanded.

Joshua and a few others that did not disobey God and were permitted to enter the promise land and God used them to destroy those who violated the LAW there. Again under the LAW it was obey or face the consequences. God has always loved us, however under the Law there was no grace.

Grace came on the resurrection of Christ. Even when Christ was here they followed the Law. When Christ healed he would tell  the person to show themselves to the priest and offer that which was required under the Law Of Moses.

The unconditional acceptance and forgiveness came with Grace. Christ said, ALL things shall be forgiven man except blaspheme of the Holy Spirit.

I truly enjoy your opinions, I find them insightful even when I can not concur with them

Deleted Member I've been wrong many times in my life, just as if you would of read closely in my blog I am for strong law enforcement and stiff penalties for those who are guilty of crimes, as I said if a person is guilty, then let the chips fall where they fall.
