Soap Box Drama

  • For those who know me, they know that I am silent most of the time. I do not get into anyone's business, I do not try to gossip about anyone, and I surely do not post any kind of "Soap Box Drama" on the main board. That being said, this blog is strictly MY OPINION! You can take it or you can leave it. But I feel that I have remained silent long enough. I may loose some of the few friends that I have. Then again, I may gain more friends. Which ever the case maybe, I speak this from my heart and this is truely how I see things here.

Firstly, I know that this site is for all beliefs and all religions. Christian and Non-Christians alike. I take offense to anyone who calls a Non-Christian an "UNBELIEVER". I find that comment insulting not only to the person that it is being refered to but also to anyone on this site. Everyone on here, believes in something. Yes, I know how you are meaning it, and that is the point. To use the term "Unbeliever" to me, you are stating that they believe in absolutely nothing at all. Which would be a lie in some sort of shape or fashion. In one of the threads, a colleague made the statement that some of the Non-Christian colleagues can not handle the truth when "in my terms" confronted with scripture. Well let me say this, I am a Christian, have been all my life. And with the way some colleagues, it is HOW they say it and they WAY they are using the truth that makes me disgusted with what I read. I have read some pretty appalling things and I am unsure why someone who is supposed to be a Christian, would be using what the good Lord and Jesus said to be purposely hurting another person verbally. I have friends here who are both Christians and Non-Christians alike. And oh yeah, I will defend them. It is not my place nor is it anyone's place on here to judge what another person may or may not believe in. Their belief is going to be between them and whatever  Higher Being they have their belief with. This site, in MY OPINION, is to be where all different beliefs and religions can converge, mingle without condemnation, and be able to LEARN about one another. Outside of a few people (counting on 1 hand and using 3 fingers), have I yet met anyone who is willing to sit and have an actual discussion on our different aspects of our faith. I find that very sad.

Secondly, in my opinion, if you feel that you have a problem with something someone has said or done against you, KEEP YOUR SOAP BOX DRAMA OFF THE MAIN BOARD!!! My gosh, some of the things that I have seen makes me think I am back in intermediate school. You always have choices. 1. Choose to ignore them. 2. Message them privately and try to work out your differences. or 3. REPORT THEM TO ADMIN. What ever you decide, please for your own good keep it off the main board. For you to put your drama on the main board like some of you do is like hanging your knickers out to dry in a subway during rush hour. Some will just walk on by, some may say something about it, and then others will run with it. Sometimes it can be in your favor. Most the time it will not. As some have found out in recent days. I am sorry, but if  my dirty laundry was to be put out there in front of everyone, I would be mortified. Remember, the main board is seen by EVERYONE! If you insist on putting your laundry on the main board, either be ready to back up what you say or be publicly horse whipped (so to speak) when you have nothing or do not wish to back up what you say. Cause from what I have witnessed since I have been on, you had better have a pretty tough hide if you are going to keep your soap box drama on the main board.

Lastly, over the course of my time here, there have been many different beliefs that have fallen under attack and felt that others were trying to run that particular belief off of the site. It is not just Christians saying they are under attack. I have witnessed Non-Christians, Catholics, Buddist, you name it. So those of you who feel like you are under attack, need to step back and look at the real picture. It may not be the faith that is under attack, but instead what or how you are talking to or treating someone else that is being questioned. Note: I said "questioned"!! You will be treated as you treat others on here. Denomination, Belief, and Religion will have nothing to do with it. I know. I have seen this first hand. Again this is my opinion and you can either take it or leave it.

So those of you who live on the "SOAP BOX DRAMA" either get thicker skin, or learn how to play nice with the others of this site. Because sooner or later, there will come another with a soap box drama and it starts all over again.

If at any point I have offended anyone, I did not mean to. But I did feel the need to say what I have and if it helps anyone, then I have accomplished something at least.

Ashley Human But they always say silent is golden (I think I got that right) but others have been taught to speak without thinking. I think if people thought about things before posting them they would understand and gain the insite and wisdom from all instead of negitivity

Reverend Sister Denise Smith, of the NCO This could be true. But sometimes we allow our anger to over ride wisdom and react first then think later. My opinion is when this happens, we need to stop and take a deep cleansing breath to allow the anger to cool off before responding. Cooler heads wi...  more
