Gardens of Time

  • Thursdays departing lack of light, ushers Friday morning into sight.

The ground breaks; pushed open by a tiny sprout.

The day breaks, as sunlight pushes over horizons east.

"It's Friday and I am here!" comes the ebullient shout.

A new day blooms and unfolds, slowly, before my opening eyes.

Mornings sunshine, causes birds to sing under warming blue skys.

In the gardens of time another day has sprouted.

Day by day the rows of history replace the emptiness of the future.

Once again our Master Gardener tends to the garden of time.

Directing the chaos and lending an order to what seems an impossible task.

Planting the seeds of another fine day is something I have no right to ask.

So now Friday's in full bloom and leaving me feeling so fine.

When Fridays has ended, wilting into dusk, disappearing into the night.

Knowing that tomorrows dawn brings Saturdays newborn bloom.

I will lay down in rest to dream the peaceful dream divine.

Lay down with hopes of seeing a new day blossom one more time.~Jay Olson
