Flipping the Flop

  • Sitting in the newly grown field, I am counting  birds that fly.

Watching the clouds, which are made of fluff, floating across the sky.

A day in the sun is a special fun; you never know who you may meet.

Spending time in the great outdoors is a wonderful type of treat.

Whether you're young or whether you're old it matters nary a lick.

The sun is a tonic to heal the soul; it can cure you when you are sick.

A day in the blue will lift us up and make anyone start to sing.

Throw open your window and open the doors, smile, and spread your wing.

Say ‘Hi” to the people that you might meet, be it a stranger or a friend.

It’s never too late to be cheerful; you may even start a new trend.

Kick up your heels and look at the world in brand new sort of light.

When things go wrong in the morning, they can still turn around by night.

So get yourself out to the newly grown fields, enjoy the air and the light.

Smile at your neighbor, the people you meet, it can make everything all right.

Look at the flowers that grow in the paths wherever  you travel today.

Counting your blessings is something to do; it will send all your troubles away.~Jay Olson
