Follow the Daffodil Way

  • Anger will not quench your thirst, or bring you true relief.

It's salty and it's bitter, and that is my belief.

To drink the drink of angry thought, your thirst it will not slake.

It fills you up with emptiness, your peace it's sure to take.

Anger is handy and offered up freely, to one and to all, every day.

But the water of kindness is always around; it's sweeter in every way.

When offered an angry solution to troubles, turn your tumbler upside down.

Fill your days with calmness and joy, there's plenty of goodness around.

Is the daffodil angry when waiting for spring?

It lies buried in dirt through frost, snow, and rain.

When the morning arrives for its petals to bloom,

Does this beautiful flower stomp out of the room?

No need to be angry when the new day begins, it can only bring you pain.

An angry person, who walks about, is worse than an ill-timed rain.

But a person at peace with the world around is truly a blessing indeed.

To live in peace, while spreading goodwill, is what our world does need.~Jay Olson
