The More You Eat

  • While baking some beans that I found on my shelf.
I added some spices and sang to myself.
Boil and bubble, simmer and stew, thicken and soak it all in.
It's a meal complete, a tasty good treat, so deliciously close to a sin.

The poor mans steak it's often times called; though I doubt the story is true.
It was made in a pot in the cave of a wizard, a wizard with nothing to do.
Beans baked by a wizard and fit for a king, a heavenly treat indeed.
It's a meal complete, a nutritional banquet; it's all you will ever need.

The bean has been called the magical fruit, no kidding, with all jokes aside.
There's plenty of protein, a calorie or two, with minerals all packed inside.
Get out the old crock pot and fire up your stove, prepare yourself for a meal.
A serving of beans that you've baked for yourself is really the absolute deal.

The beans I was baking are finally finished; they're tender and smelling so fine.
I will serve up a plate to the chef that prepared them; he is a good friend of mine.
The memory lingers and tickles my mind; I will never forget my first taste.
The beans that I make in my kitchen, are beans that will not go to waste.~Jay Olson
