Look Ma, No Hands

  •

I am back on the bike and going for a ride, peddling as fast as I dare.
Peddling and coasting again and again, and now I am almost there.
It has been a short time since the last time, but now I'm flying fast.
Twas a long hard climb up a long steep hill, I'm making the moment last.

Building speed while riding high; the wind is at my back.
I feel like a whirling race car on an oval race car track.
I'll put my whetted finger up; to get a small sense of the breeze.
Soon my furious cycling pace will lift me up through the trees.

I'll ride so fast and fly so high, no flight plan needed today.
My pants will navigate my course, there's not a chance I'll lose my way.
Watch out birds, and airplanes too; I'm free and soaring high.
There is no limit to the heights; this bike I ride can fly.

So grab a bike and join me; close your eyes real tight.
Start to peddle in your mind and soon you will take flight.
You can fly among the trees where little birdies sweetly sing.
A trip that's taken in the mind can be as good as the real thing.~Jay Olson
