Identity Check

  • Who am I? And what am I doing?--it's a question I quite often hear. The answer I give is the truth as I see it--though the meaning is never real clear. Don't ask me for things that can never be proved--there is only so much I can give. Everyone has a purpose in life I suppose--I say--live and let live. I don't have an answer to everything--the last number in PI I don't know. I haven't yet mastered the right way to fly--but I'm working that out as I go. I can jump from and airplane, not wearing a chute--I can glide as free as a bird. But landing unharmed ain't so easy--at least that's what I have heard. I can walk on two feet any day of the week--I can howl at the full yellow moon. I can write my name backward--I can sit on my hands--I can balance a fork on a spoon. If you ask me the time, I can look at the sky and decide if it's morning or night. I have practiced relaxing for many long year and finally have gotten it right. I have done many things I am proud of--I have done a few things I am not. I am working with what I've been given--what I've been given is all that I've got Who am I? You may ask in amazement--I have answered the best that I can. I am what I am and that's all that I am--I am nothing more than a man.~Jay O.
