Don't Walk Alone

  • Imagine being a light bulb before they built the socket. I’d hate to be an astronaut before they built the rocket. It’s not so very easy, arriving out of order. Like entering a foreign country, before you reach the boarder. I’ve heard it said, “You’re special.” I wonder if that’s so. Sometimes I’m like that light bulb; I have no place to go. I feel like that astronaut that’s going on a trip. Waiting to be launched in space; without a rocket ship. Flying solo is a thrill; or so I’ve often heard. To take that flight you’ll need a plane, unless you are a bird. A yoyo needs a string attached or else it‘s just a wheel. It always pays to have support; that’s just the way I feel. So when I’m feeling “Special” and my head begins to grow. I think about that light bulb that had no place to go. I know without a rocket ship, I’m stuck here on the ground. Thank God for friends to lift me up, and always be around.~Jay O.
