The Willow and the Redwood

  • Willow trees and Redwoods are growing side by side. The willow oft times humble; the redwood full of pride. The redwood reaches upward, high into the sky. The willow gently whispers while it bows its limbs and cries. The ancient Redwood, so very straight and tall. It has an ageless memory; a memory that surpasses all. A timeless tree; whose years are oft unknown. This noble sentry stands alone. The Willow tree with limbs like wings, It gives us whistles, dolls, and things. Those limbs reach down to touch the ground. It’s a place where ghosts are sometimes found. The Redwood and the Willow are two different types of tree. They live together, side by side, as peaceful as can be. Each one serves a purpose in natures’ simple plan. A lesson that could well be learned, by every woman, child, and man. While sitting in the morning sun, I saw in front of me. I saw a magic Willow, next to a Redwood tree. They both blew in the gentle breeze and made a peaceful sound. It takes all types of everything to make our world go round. So when you meet a person, who is not the same as you, Remember the mighty Redwood; remember the Willow too. Everyone has purpose; we all have our pride. We can live in harmony; together, side by side.~Jay O.
