  • When your plate is full and you feel as if you're busy as you can be. It's easy to say "Please leave me alone, go away and don't bother me." When being distracted by others requests seems to take your eye off the plate. Put down you knife, lay down the fork--stop eating, before it's too late. Why? You may ask, should I smell a rose that I pass while walking along. Why should I care if the sky is blue or if a bird will sing out a song? Those are just things that happen by chance and have nothing to do with me. I'm busy today and don't have time--I've got plenty to do--don't you see? Consider the person with nothing to eat--no food to put on the plate. It's not easy being hungry with nothing to do--that's something to contemplate. There is something to say for smelling the rose, or hearing the birds' lovely song. It can feed your soul with an energy that will last you the whole day long. All of these thing that pass through my head are some kind of a food for your thought. Something that I am giving away--something that cannot be bought. If you've plenty to eat and are full to the brim--or you're hungry with nothing in sight. Take heart my friend, in the final end, things will end up all right. You may ask yourself, "How can this be?" That all will end up just fine. "How can someone who is hungry, be happy all of the time"? "How can a person who is swamped with work, ever have time to rest?" What kind of god would put us here and give such a godawful test? My answer is simple and my answer is short, I haven't the slightest clue. I cannot tell you what needs to be done or even what you should do. All I can say is good luck with life and enjoy every day that you live. It's not the things you receive that count--but only the things that you give.~Jay O.
