Reflections in Retrospect--Thoughts From a Cloud

  • The sky rained terror that quiet Tuesday morning--sleep was still in my eye. I sipped on my coffee and thought about nothing---while terror fell from the sky. Confusion and panic were the password that morning--anxiety, suddenly freed. What twisted, corrupted, or misguided soul could concoct such a hideous deed? That morning in time has slipped into the past and is etched deeply into our mind. Can we ever forget? Can we ever forgive? These are answers we never may find. Yesterday leaves us, today is at hand, and tomorrow waits in the wing. Let us all hope sincerely that the day in September will be just a one time thing. It is said that time will heal all wounds and it's better to always forgive. Those are wonderful thoughts and are easy to say--not always so simple to live. The sun is still shining this September morning--as it did on this day years ago. There are questions inside me aplenty--with answers I may never know. While sipping my coffee this September morning the upcoming day is at hand. I will stop and remember the day in the past that tragedy struck our fair land. Time is relentless-- it stops for no person and walks with a purposeful stride. I hope and I pray that while traveling today I can walk with forgiveness inside.~Jay O.
