  • On the day of my death as I floated through space.

The days of my life drifted past my dead face.

All the memories forgotten every deed I had done.

Every game I had played Every race I had run.

They played like a movie that ran through my head.

When the movie was over I knew I was dead.

My spirit flew upward through trees, clouds, and stars.

Past galaxies near and black holes afar.

When out of the blue a gate did appear.

With a kindly old man who said, "Glad you are here."

"This is the heaven of which you have heard.

To enter just tell me, what is your password?"

"What password is this?"     I promptly replied.

He told me I got it at the time I had died.

"Remember that movie that passed by your eyes?

The moments, the memories? The truth and the lies?"

"Your password was there as bright as the day.

Just tell me the word and be on your way."

My answer was quick, as I had not a clue.

"If I don't know the answer, what the hell should I do?"

He said,  "Not a problem." and gave me a look.

"I'll reset your password." He wrote in a book.

I thanked him profusely for being so kind.

He said,  "You are welcome. Pay attention next time."

“Pay attention to what?” were the words that I said.

“To the words of the movie that runs in your head.”
