FREEDOM: Where do we Start?

  • James 1:25 (New International Version)

But the one who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.   James 1:25 (New International Version)

" Human dignity and freedom are our constant necessities.  So, let us keep them with us, or let us die with dignity "  ~ M.T. Cicero~

" A person is enslaved to the extent they believe their life has only a physical beginning. "

CELEBRATE FREEDOM.  TODAY IS THE DAY OF THE ROCKETS RED GLARE...OUR FLAG IS STILL THERE...STARS AND STRIPES and Mom and Apple Pie.

But a lot remains undone.  As the Christian scripture above says Freedom is Doing.  As Cicero says Freedom is Dignity.  Tolstoy said something a bit more comples.  Slavery is only seeing your PHYSICAL BEGINNING.  Today as you celebrate "American" freedom, remember to celebrate FREEDOM as a state of the SPIRIT.  If we are enslaved to all which is physical then we have forgotten that we are not only physical but more importantly SPIRITUAL BEINGS having a physical experience.  AND HOW DOES THIS GOVERN OUR ACTIONS?  James, writing in the New Testament of the Christian Scriptures reminds all who would listen that remembering our SPIRITUAL SELF means that we do not just HEAR but we also DO !  Today challenge yourself to DO something which frees you and others to have more SPIRITUAL FREEDOM--the ability to create, cry, laugh out loud and to share with others.  Then come back here to this blog and share how you DID YOUR FREEDOM TODAY !  Maybe you can start by paying Mom a fair wage for her Apple Pie? !

    In Peace with Freedom,

    ELDER MOTHER NANHI
