Welcome to the ULC Minister's Network

A new ministry is beginning

  • What an awesome last two weeks I've had. First a long time, close friend of mine invites back to a social site I stopped using. So I made a new profile making it clear from the start that not only was I a Christian, but also an ordained minister. For the first few days we just sort of caught up with each other.

Then the next thing you know God starts bringing complete strangers, yet also believers, to me and I share with them how God has led me to this point. And I also share my non-traditional views of God with them. Some have been through many trials themselves and understand exactly what I am saying. We have been having a great time fellowshipping back and forth.

Last night I felt led to look for a site that would let me create my own personal and secure chat room (https). And there it was. God wouldn't let me go to bed until I had everything set-up and in place. It is completely free to make your own chat room, and you are allowed to link to it from any site you want, and they allow embedding that room on any page you want. I did choose to get a premium membership ($10 / 3 months) so that I can have a personalized URL, and to make it ad free.

I can see so clearly why I have such a love for social sites: they allow me to reconnect with old friends (childhood and high school friends), and to make new ones. They also allow me a way to share thoughts and ideas that God gives me to share, and to learn from what others have been taught by God. I believe this love is nutured by God. With so many people using the internet it just makes sense that God would also use it to reach as many people as He can.

Until last night I had forgotten how much fun I use to have in the old IRC chat rooms. Meeting new people and making new friends around the world. Spending hours and hours just chatting away. And sharing with others about our faiths. And so I am beginning "Chat-Church". Just a simple IRC chat room, on a secure server, with a password so that spammers and the like can't come in and disturbed the working of the Spirit.
