What is happening to these boards?

  • I am starting to get the feeling that these boards on the Monastery, are becoming less open to those of other faiths. It is starting to look more like an evangelist's pulpit - where daily sermons - and the "fire-and-brimstone"-type sermons are becoming more commonplace.

I have been the other directions and been on the other paths in my past years. I was never truly inspired to find that inner-Divinity, let alone connect with it on the basis of "another man's" doctrines. I actually found most of the beneditions and sermons to more insulting than uplifting as I had always believed that people who are supposed to Love one another, seem to have a hard time putting that into practice in their daily lives.

I also had a tough time following along with what I perceived as a "slave mentality" that was often pushed by the pastors and preachers of the previous churches. I usually left at the end of the sermons and services feeling even lower than dirt, than actually uplifted and hopeful. Where was the Love in all of those words, often given with a scortching breath that was ever-present everywhere. I also had a big problem with the idea that "we are nothing to God". If this be the case, then WHY were we created in the first place?

My confusion about the world of spirit and the divine would not be cleared up and answered for, until I began to explore the world of spirit - outside of "another man's doctrines", just between myself and God. Many would say this is the path towards illusion and self-deception. So far, I see that answer is not sufficient to explain why I have been able to experience more of the reality than we have been conditioned to accept as "reality". I have probably learned more about this life, life in general, and the Natural Law in general, than I ever would have within a confined and stuffy "church". I have also learned more so, that the Divine Powers are there for us to familiarize ourselves with, and to put to, hopefully, good use to benefit not only ourselves - but also benefit our Brothers and Sisters who may need our help. Is this not what Our Creator would have intended for us all to do? Restore balance to the imbalaces that so many have made themselves responsible?

I have no problems with some quotes and adages from the various spiritual texts (in which the "Bible" is NOT THE ONLY CORRECT ONE) for the purposes of uplifting and inspiring others to do their best. My problem is that the preponderance of many of these pieces are starting to sound more intolerant of others' beliefs. We each have a Divine Right, to come to know the Divine, the Creator, as Father or as Mother, as seems most fit to us - in a personally-sensible way that is most meaningful. I firmly believe that one's own "salvation" is one's own choice and responsibility! I believe that one's own spiritual path was tailed for and by the percipient in that way which is most applicatble towards one's own life's experiences. We each have our own collection of experiences. We each have our own perception of the world around us. We each have our own set of solutions to some of the common problems that each and every one of face, daily. There simply is no "cook-book", nor "instruction manual" on how to best live life - that fits everyone's unique life circumstances! This is just not possible.

The Bible, the Holy Qu'ran, The Bagavad Gita, The Rig Vedas, The Urantia Book, ALL of them - have the bits and pieces of the truth of spiritual life. NONE of them are THE "authority on life and the Divine". This I will defend to my grave.

My "Holy Book" is yet to be written. My inspiration is still yet to become empassioned and engulfed in the flames of desire - and bathed in the presence of Wisdom for it to final "manifest" itself into existence. However, I still live the way that I do now, because it is what was finally taught to me (as I finally decided to listen and learn).

My ways, and my path shall NEVER seek to over-power or force anyone to think as I do! My path is one of learning through experiencing. My path is one of a Shamanic Path. I have been to many of the other churches and religious systems. They were not a right fit for me. Therefore, My Path is My Own, and that which is most fitting to my life's experiences - and Divine revelations to me.

So, If I am to be accused of "straying from God", "Dancing with the Devil", or any other sophomoric-sophisterial sayings and negative-platitudes, then so be it! I am above labels, and I am above "feeling insulted". I shall not worry of any perceived "offense", because to "take offense" is an individual's choice - there is NO such right to quell the speech or beliefs of another, on the basis of one's CHOOSING to "take offense"! THAT I shall defend to the grave too!

Those who are truly walking their paths in personal harmony with he/she/it they see as their "God", shall have no reason to feel threatened, challenged, or OFFENDED by those who do not understand their beliefs (let alone the "offenders" having surety in their OWN beliefs).

    I walk with the Dragons,

I walk in the Shadows of the Dragons,

    I walk in Tiamat's Shadow,

I am a Child of The Dragons,

    And so Be It!

These boards are honestly more devoid of interaction than I had thought. I'm not sure what I expected when I began posting, but I guarantee what I actually found here is not It. I suspect the format is to blame: scrolling timeline ...  more

Seems a lot of "bible-thumping" is going on and that's okay to believe in such. I just wonder how long before some start really stepping on others' toes in the process?
