What Stigmata You?

  • Never before in our history has the world been able to witness it's own social, economic and ecologic meltdowns.

Such an unprecidented global experience can only mean, "something is definitely rotten in Denmark", and the global search is on, to locate the smell!

Among the various cultures that make up the six billion sum odd people on this rock, there is obviously a global culture, leading an exploration of what seems to be our genuine shift into asking aloud, "why are we here?"

But the observers, sometimes called "futurists" or, "visionaries" and even, "prophets"; they lead our exploration by remaining watchful and informed about the events in our larger reality.

I'm thinking the whole concept of "News" was probably agreed upon and put into place by futurists, obvservers-passed who wanted to keep everyone on board with any new hope that may come down the cosmic pipe-line.

If the success of the internet is any indication, our global culture is hungry for higher more sensible views of government ideologies, kind of like a sports fan watching teams compete only, more important than that. (Naaaah?)

Observers take the position of spectator, for instance, to observe geo-politics, so they can recall past outcomes,

and then get involved at ground zero, or by expressing helpful opinions on matters at hand.

Observers may have individualized loyalties to political and/or religious oraganizations, but these are just practices of choice, because such loyalties have given us the best view of life's possibilities as we observe and, most importantly...

as we accept our purpose to steward life, through its subjective storms.

"Watchers" are definitely a peculiar bunch of shinolas.

While most people are seeking opportunities to participate in the "rat-race" of life, watchers and stewards of universal life seek better more effective ways to open life's vision to the oneness of creation, as in, human society being connected to the Oneness of God.

In waking the oneness of our ecology, watchers can certainly clarify our vision, towards a more inclusive socio-economic structure.

So, what about those who are not among this culture of so called, "enhanced givers" of compassionate observation and their good intentions to steward life?

Well, we see many of them on a daily basis, in every headline about a scandal, about violence, about addictions, and even relating to medicine commercials.

    That's right!

Even pharmaceutical companies present clever "life dramatizations" as a gentle announcer tell us, "But oh, have we got a pill for what ails you."

These examples, and others,  come to our attention because we really are trying and want to have a genuinely postive effect on others, as well as on our environment.

And "we" do - as stewards and nurturers of people in our lives - we look at what's happening in our broader world, and the tragedies are our liberty bells.

That bell is always ringing to cause another minds' awakening.

Watchers are awake and have become aware of our ability play a larger part in what's happening.

A minor amazing thing about us is, as observant beings, we want things to turn out good but we're fascinated

    by the bad that happens.

Doctor's have deduced that to be, "confronting our fears vicariously" or, scaring our selves on our own terms, in own our way, to get-passed being afraid of the unknown.

    But I digress...

My primary concern is for those we observe because we really can know them by their words, more than by their deeds.

Words spoken may be the least reliable conveyor of truth, especially if a lie is heard with the intellect but also when we're getting our emotions manipulated by someone who want to control the uncontrollable.

However, false words spoken never fool or lie to our hearts.

Learning who trust and then, eventually learning not to trust anyone is the biggest example of

the damage done by lieing words.

Betrayals by those trusted people closest to us have become humanity's emotional stigmata and few even understand this but, almost no one wants to talk about it.

Because of our silence, the "not so good" headline makers whom, for yet-explicable reasons, are society's  children.

The stigma of their fathers visiting the sons choices as our media provides stigmata's crowning, and innocense's "public crucifixion".

As a minister, spiritual activist and spiritual peer specialist, I have interviewed men, women and even children who have committed a gambit of criminal offenses including the big M., in the first dergree.

Some of the people I've ministered to have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder but, most people have not.

What I realized was none of us were told that life was an education in compassionate assistance.

I believe compassion is the key to our true "kingdom" inheritance.

We are starting to wake-up to helping, teaching and stewarding each other out of our elder's self-destructive habits of shallow, competitive gain.

So, if my expressed opinions on this topic meets with your disagreement and observations, please let me know why, since your view can only fine tune our view all the more. (Something we do as intentional Observers)

On the other hand, if this makes you nod your head in agreement, be afraid! (kidding)

It could very well mean you consciously observe life because you intend to participate

    in life with compassion.

And compassion is, the act of understanding my views come to me and change at God's appointed time, for my protection, not for the glory of someone else.

Compassion offers an eternal protection that can and will heal our increasingly stigmatized society. To err' is always human but to forigve; to have compassion is what makes us divine.

Concretely, I dream of someday teaching a compassion corriculum in prisons, in mental health

institutions and in the public high school systems because it seems to me, they've experienced and felt the most separated from God's love.

And I'd like to tell them how and why the power of compassion, which is born within us all, is the truth that set me free.

Thank You, thank you and thank you,

    Well Journeys
