We often forget that he was in fact human andt when the human body is being tortured and in that much pain, we often feel alone. We try to understand the cruelty that is happening to us, but can find no reason for it. It's these darkest hours where we truly feel alone. When we place out trust in a God that allows this to happen, (because we believe this was their doing or could be prevented by him/her) your faith begins to waiver. The pain is to intense and only natural that the only focus will be on that pain and why it is allowed to be inflicted. It's like having a child that is told by their mom or dad they they love them, but then get's beat so bad they can barely walk. If you were hit several times with throny branches, and then your hands and feet were literally nailed to a piece of wood, wouldn't you be asking the same thing?
