Charity is mentioned across religions: Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and so on. As GOD commands that we love our brothers and sisters in Christ, he holds charity in high esteem amongst the 7 Virtues. As GOD bless us we should strive to bless others... charity... when is the last time that you helped someone simply because you could???
