Spritual Growth

  • Skip Jennings is a Reiki Master and Spiritual advisor that I have met on a Soul Garden Collective.

I receive his inspiring thoughts each day in my morning email. Thought provoking, moving, and helpful to me in getting my feet on the ground in the right direction for moving out into a world that sometimes seems hurried, distracted and detatched from the love, the Divine connection that joins us all.

Hope you enjoy his thoughts this morning.

    Meditative Thought:  "Remaining Awake"

Our spiritual journey is not just about waking up to who and what we are, but we must remain awake.  There are 3 levels to spiritual growth.  Level 1 is when you hear an insight and it becomes an Ah-ha moment.  Example, “Smoking is bad.”  Level 2 is when you have an Ah-ha moment and you recognized it as something that needs to be applied to your life.  You implement the insight and it last for about a month.  Example “Not gossiping.”  Level 3 is when you have an Ah-ha moment, you implement it in your life, and it is permanent.  A major shift happens and you are changed forever.  For me, it was when I began to understand; I am the living qualities of God.  During level 3, there could come a time when we forget and we revert back to old actions.  The practice is to remain awake.  We will always have new insights but the true work is making them a way of life.

Affirmations:  Just for Today, the Universe is Love; therefore I can Love.  The Universe is Joy; therefore I am Joyous.  The Universe is Compassion; therefore I am Compassionate.  The Universe is Grace; therefore I move with ease and Grace.  I remember to remember and I remain awake.  And so it is.  Amen
