  Dear Lord God,

   

  The Book of James tells me all about the power of my words and my tongue in James 3:1-12, including these three verses...

   

  But no man can tame the tongue.

  It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

  With it, we bless our God and Father,

  and with it we curse men,

  who have been made in the similitude of God.

  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.

  My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

  James 3:8-10

   

  My tongue is such a little part of my body, and it can do so much good and so much harm.

   

  I can speak words that bless You and words that curse others who are made in Your image.

   

  A few words can uplift, encourage, and speak positive things into a person's life and a few words can also put down, discourage, and ruin a person's day.

   

  Please forgive me for any of my words that wound others and dishonor You.

   

  I pray that my words will be full of blessings; that my words will draw others to You.

   

  Show me who You want me to bless through my words today.

   

  Please help me to bless someone today, that You will be glorified.

   

  In Jesus' name, I pray,
