The Pagan Resurrections Vs The Real

In the ancient world, there were strange foreshadows and substitutes of the resurrection – the myths of the dying and rising gods. It was linked to the death and rebirth of nature every year. So they commemorated their myths every year with the change of seasons, but it was all a myth. They didn’t really believe that anything could happen once and for all to change their lives. But as believers, we have something real; we have the for real resurrection. And yet so many live as if the resurrection was a myth rather than reality. We hear that He rose, but we live our lives with very little evidence that things changed. We hear that He overcame all things, but we live as if He really hasn’t, as if it was really a myth. But we have a real God, a real Messiah, who rose for real in history. Live the power of the resurrection every day. It’s so real that you really have the ability to overcome because every other ‘good news’ is a myth. But in Messiah and His resurrection, you’ve got the real thing. He rose! You can do the same.
