Daily Scripture and Reflections

  • Jesus: Shiloh
    The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
    nor a lawgiver from between his feet,
    until Shiloh comes;
    and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
    Genesis 49:10

    Jesus is Shiloh, which means “peacemaker.” He can give you peace about any and all decisions this day. He is called Shiloh, a name given in the Old Testament more than 1,800 years before Christ was born. This name was reflective of His coming to make peace between the Father and all sinners by His death on the cross (Ephesians 2:14). Because of your sins, He is your Shiloh.

    Shiloh, You gave me peace with God when You came into my heart at conversion. Thank You for giving me “peace through the blood of [Your] cross” (Colossians 1:20). I yield to You; come fill my heart with Your strength, direct my thoughts, and give me the courage to choose Your will for my life.

    Jesus is Shiloh, bringing peace to troubled hearts. “In Me, you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Shiloh will give you inner peace when you let Him control your heart. Jesus is Shiloh, the Prince of Peace for your job, for your home, for your nation, and for the world. One day there will be a millennium of peace when Jesus rules the world. For now, Jesus is Shiloh, the One who brings inner peace to the human heart when people invite Him into their lives. Then we who know His peace must spread it into our world and our friends.

    Shiloh, come rule in my life and then influence my job, my home, and my friends. Amen.
