  • Jesus: The One Who Has the Key of David
These things says He who is holy,
    He who is true,
"He who has the key of David,
He who opens and no one shuts,
and shuts and no one opens."
    Revelation 3:7

Jesus is the One Who Has the Key of David. It was given to Him by His heavenly Father. It was given to Him by His heavenly Father. The key gives Jesus the authority to determine who will enter the Kingdom. He alone determines who will be given access to the Father, for Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Jesus is the One Who Has the Key of David whereby all shall be saved. Now you must share this key—the message—with others. “I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it” (Revelation 3:8). You have an open door to share the message of salvation with those you know. Jesus said, “I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (Revelation 3:11). Don’t let the door of witnessing shut.

Lord, I need your wisdom to grasp all the opportunities I have to serve You. I need Your wisdom to know what to say, and I need Your courage to help me speak to others about salvation.

Jesus is the One who can open and shut the door of opportunity. When He opens up an opportunity to witness, you must take that opportunity, or that door may be shut to you in the future.

Jesus, You have the key. I ask You to help me use my opportunities so that others may believe. Don’t let me lose my chance to witness for You. Amen.

Jesus opens doors for you to witness to others.
