Daily Scripture and Reflections

  • The Father: My Father
    My Father, who has given them to Me,
    is greater than all;
    and no one is able to snatch them
    out of My Father’s hand.
    I and My Father are one.
    John 10:29-30

    The Father has a special relationship with Jesus Christ: Jesus is His Son. We can never understand their relationship because we are human. But we can enjoy the results of that relationship. Because Jesus and the Father are one and because you are in Christ and He is in you, you can have access to the Father through Jesus (John 14:20; 15:4-5). You have great security because you are in Jesus. Jesus said, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me” (John 10:28).

    Jesus called the Father My Father, reflecting a unique relationship (John 5:16-18). Jesus was closer to the Father’s heart than anyone else because the Father and Son were one (John 17:11,21). Yet because you are in Christ, you can be as close as Jesus is to the Father’s heart.

    I come to You, Father, because I am in Christ. I want to be as close to You as Jesus is. Accept me and bless me because of Jesus.

    Because Jesus referred to God as “My Father,” so can you. God is your Father, who protects His children because they were given to Him by Christ. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me” (John 10:28-29).

    Father, I rest confidently in Your presence, knowing that Jesus gave me access to Your heart. Thank You for this peace. Amen.
