  • LOCUSTS, PESTILENCE, & THE CALL OF GOD
    Monday, June 1, 2020
I always seek to be careful with regard to speaking of the future. But months before 2020 began I told others that I believed 2020 would be a dramatic year, an important year, a critical year, and a year of shaking. I shared this as well at the start of the year at Beth Israel. I wrote to you at the start of the year of the reasons why I believed this particular year would be a dramatic one - and why we had to be in prayer - and in prayer for revival - as the issue of returning to the Lord is one of life and death - and for America.

I then wrote you of The Return, the National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance - set for September 26, 2020, in Washington D.C. and around the nation. This was all planned before the dramatic events of 2020 took place - namely a plague that brought the world to a standstill. It has truly been a shaking - of global proportions and, what many would say, biblical, and apocalyptic proportions. None of us have ever experienced anything like it. The world has never experienced anything like it.

2020 has been the year of the pestilence. But it has also been the year of another biblical sign - a plague of locusts. In fact, we are now seeing the greatest plague of locusts in generations - hundreds of billions of locusts sweeping over a continent.

From last fall until now, I've been especially sharing the word 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways..." That is the purpose and call of The Return. While many believers are familiar with the verse - few ever look at the context - or even what leads up to it. It's this: "When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people if My people who are called by My name..."

Thus, the context of 2 Chronicles 7:14 is a crisis, a crisis that constitutes a wake-up call from God: A pestilence, plague, as in a pandemic, as in a coronavirus - And a plague of locusts. The Scripture says any of these would constitute the call of God for repentance in the face of judgment. But 2020 has been the year of both at the same time.

Do we dare miss the call or not respond to it? And if we miss this now, when will we ever hear God's voice or respond to it. As I've said from the beginning, now is the time to repent, to live in revival, and to pray and intercede as never before for the Return and revival of America and the world. Let's do it - for real.

And may God greatly bless you this month as you do!
