  • It's not Complete Until the Goat is Gone
    Wednesday, November 18, 2020
Yom Kippur was the holiest day of the Biblical year. It's all about peace with God and it contains many secrets about how to have peace in your own life. It's found in Leviticus 16, "He shall send the goat away into the desert...The goat will carry on itself all their sins..." That's how Yom Kippur ended. The sins of Israel were symbolically laid on the head of a goat, the scapegoat. The goat was then sent away and released into the wilderness, never to be seen again. What does this have to do with your life and peace? What sin, what guilt, what fear, what problem is taking away your peace? Bring it to God, confess it, and cast it onto the Redeemer who is also our scapegoat. But then you must release it. Yom Kippur ended with a big release. Once you have brought your sins to God, you are commanded to release them. And that means you have to send it away. In God, you have the power to release the sin, the guilt and its memory away into the wilderness. For when you release it, you will be released.

What is it that is taking away your peace - take it - bring it to Messiah - cast it upon Him - and let it go - release it.
