The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Life
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
has made me free from the law of sin and death.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Life who gives eternal life to all who believe in Jesus Christ. Unsaved people will follow the law of sin because they are born with a sin nature (Romans 3:23). But all those who are born again can be free from the law of sin (Romans 8:2). The Holy Spirit gives them this freedom when they claim His victory. All who put their trust in Christ Jesus should live by the new law of the Spirit of Life. Also, because laws come from God, the Spirit of Life gives you a new nature, which has new laws and new desires, to control your life. Don’t follow the old laws of sin; follow the new laws of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, thank You for being the Spirit of Life in me. Thank You for giving me new desires so that I can live above the law of sin and death.
The Spirit of Life has delivered you from the law of sin and death so that you don’t automatically have to surrender to your old nature. Sin doesn’t have to control your life. The Spirit of Life can give you power to overcome temptation. Also, the forces of sin and death cannot dictate your future. The Spirit of Life will deliver your soul to God at the moment of your death. You may die physically, but your body will be raised in the future, because of the Spirit of Life within you.
Holy Spirit, I yield to Your control of my life; live freely in me. Give me Your power to overcome temptation and to live a godly life for You. Amen.
