What Rembrandt Didn't Know
He went bankrupt, lived in poverty, and died in obscurity. He didn't have enough money to pay for his own funeral. A friend put up the money - the equivalent of five dollars and twenty cents. Who was this unknown impoverished man? Rembrandt - one of the most famous and celebrated artists of all time. He who lived as poor and unknown is now considered to be one of the greatest masters in the history of art. If you're born again, then you're like Rembrandt. You can never judge your life by your circumstance. The real picture is much more glorious. You may be living in obscurity, feeling that no one knows or cares. However, you're not obscure to God. You're very well known to the angels. You might feel poor. The fact is you're rich beyond your wildest imagination, with eternal riches. You might feel like a failure. You're not a failure if you're following and serving God. In the light of eternity you'll see the riches, majesty, and glory. Be encouraged and press on to the upward call. Heaven is watching, the angels are cheering, and your life will turn out... a masterpiece.
