  • The Bread you Don't Have

There's something strange in the Lord's Prayer: "Give us this day our daily bread." The Lord is telling us to pray for bread every day. What's strange about it is that most likely you already have bread. So if you're keeping your bread, and you already have it, then how can you pray "Give us this day our daily bread?" Most believers ignore this contradiction. But the contradiction is everything. If you have bread in your house and yet if God tells you to ask Him for bread everyday, what does it mean? It means that every day you have to start out by acknowledging that all the bread you have even though you bought it, you don't really own it. Everything you have in this life, you don't own. It's all God's. Whether you're rich or poor, you're still told to pray that prayer and ask God for your bread each day. Let go of all you own today, and all your burdens with it. And when you wake up tomorrow morning, receive all your blessings afresh and new from God... along with your daily bread.

    Today's Mission
Today, seek to receive everything as a blessing in your life as new - as if receiving it for the first time.
