  • In Order to be an Apostle
    Friday, June 18, 2021

The movement was growing and with the growth came more pressing needs and urgent issues. The apostles said, "We can't do all this.... We have to devote ourselves instead to prayer and the Word." It might seem strange to say that. However the apostles were in charge of leading. If all they did was respond to the latest need, how would they have time to hear from the Lord? If they didn't hear from the Lord, how could they be led? If they weren't led, how could they lead others? They did the right thing and got away from the ministry and spent time receiving from the Lord. It's easy to get caught up in the details of life and then lose the meaning of what life's all about. It's easy to get caught up in the details of ministry and lose the purpose and meaning as to why you're ministering in the first place. You have to be led by the Word and prayer. Get away from pressing issues, even ministry, and get alone with God, in prayer and the Word. If the apostles had to make that choice, so do you.

    Today's Mission
Before you do anything today - take time in God's presence - and don't just go through this day - seek to be sent.
