Coffee Time with Jesus

  • esus: The Last Adam
The first man Adam became a living being.
The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
    1 Corinthians 15:45

Jesus is the Last Adam. Just as Adam was the head of the human race, so Jesus is the Head of those He has redeemed. The first Adam, as head of the human race, disobeyed God, resulting in all becoming sinners. “Through one man sin entered the world” (Romans 5:12). Jesus, the Last Adam, made a decision to redeem the human race. He died for all. Jesus is the Head of a new race of all who are born again by the Spirit of God. Jesus arose the third day to give life to all who follow Him.

Lord Jesus, I come to you as my Ruler and Head, acknowledging Your leadership over my life. As I pray that others will let You rule their lives, I now surrender the control of my life to You.

The first Adam was the first to sin, and by his disobedience, he plunged all humankind into eternal death. The death of Jesus—the Last Adam—delivered all who would believe in Him. Through His resurrection, He received the headship of a new race of believers. Now Jesus wants the headship of every area of your life—home, business, leisure, hobbies, vacations, amusements and so on. He wants you to serve Him with your time, talent and treasure. What will you give to Him?

Lord, I know that You are the Last Adam, the Head of the Body. Come, be the Head of my life and all my activities. I give my life to You. Amen.
