  • None for the Lazy
    Tuesday, May 10, 2022

We live in a culture of lazy convenience. In days past you had to hunt for chicken. Now you just drive up to a window and the chicken comes in a paper bag with fries and a Coke. Too much trouble to turn on the television? Use the remote control. Too much trouble to turn off the lights? Clap your hands! But godly people should be adverse to laziness -- not lazy in prayer, in quiet time or in righteousness. Proverbs 15 says "The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, but the way of the upright (or the righteous) is a highway." What does that mean? It means that the lazy are not righteous and the righteous are not lazy. The righteous are zealous for God. They are active, diligent, and blessed. The lazy are not. Are you experiencing the blessings God promised in His word? Are you setting your heart to become diligent in prayer, in ministry, in the Word, in love and in all things? If so, you will be blessed. For the blessings of the Lord are for the diligent, not the lazy.
