Coffee Time with Jesus

  • Coffee Time with Jesus (Yeshua)
    Jesus: The Man
    Then Jesus came out,
wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe.
And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!”
    John 19:5

Jesus is the Man whom the Jewish leaders brought to the Roman governor Pilate to be tried. They said that when Jesus claimed to be God, “He [had] spoken blasphemy!” (Matthew 26:65). Pilate interrogated Jesus but found no crime in Him. Still the crowd cried out for His blood. So Pilate had Jesus flogged with whips and sticks. The Roman governor wrongly thought that a brutal beating would satisfy the bloodthirsty crowd. Then Pilate presented Jesus to them, exclaiming, “Behold the Man!” (John 19:5). When he called Jesus the Man, perhaps Pilate thought that crowd would go away when they saw Him brutally beaten. But instead they cried, “Crucify Him!” What do you cry when you see Jesus the Man?

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins when I see Your sufferings. I cry out for forgiveness and mercy. You are the Son of God.

Jesus is the Man who was tried by a Roman court. Jesus is the Man who died for your sins. Jesus is the Man who intercedes for you at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. Jesus is the Man who will return from Heaven to judge the world. Jesus is the Man who also is God.

Jesus, I worship You for Your great divine glory, because I don’t understand why You would become a Man to die for me. I bow in human amazement at your greatness. Amen.
