The Power of The Broken
Tuesday, May 20, 2025
In the account of Gideon, we learn the power of broken pitchers. When Gideon's men smashed their vessels, the light of their torches shone forth, and they were given the victory. In the Gospels, we learn the power of broken containers as a broken vessel of ointment is poured out to anoint the Messiah. In the ministry of Messiah, we learn the power of broken bread as He breaks a loaf that is not nearly enough to feed the thousands who are hungry, and yet, having been broken, a miracle happens, and it does that very thing. In the death of the Messiah, we learn the power of a broken body as He gives Himself to be sacrificed and redeems the world through it. What do we see in all of this? The secret of brokenness and the awesome power of a broken vessel. Let your will be broken for His purposes, and out of your life will come the shining of His glory, the anointing of His oil, and the power of His redemption. There is no end to what God can do with a vessel that allows itself to be broken.

Today's Mission
In that area of your life where there's been resistance or hardness to the Lord's will, or where you just haven't let Him touch you, let your will be broken in surrender to His purposes.
Scripture: Psalm 51:17
