#St. John Chrysostom Saint of the Day Saint of the Day St. John Chrysostom St. John Chrysostom (347-407 A.D.) was born to noble parents in Antioch

#an important center of Christianity in his day. After the death of his father

#his mother sent him to the best schools for his education. As a result of his philosophical studies he was convinced of the truth of Christianity

#entered the Church

#and became a renowned scholar and orator. He then adopted a life of extreme asceticism as a hermit and committed the whole of Sacred Scripture to memory. The brilliance of his mind combined with the holiness of his soul made him famous; he was ordained a

#among the greatest in the history of the Church

#which earned him the name 'Chrysostom' meaning

#'Golden-mouthed' or 'Golden tongued'. His sermons

#which extended for up to two hours

#were public marvels. His straightforward style of preaching the Scriptures and his practical homilies made him very popular. He also denounced the abuses of the ruling authority and preached against the immorality of the day

#which resulted in him being exiled numerous times. He was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 451. St. John Chrysostom's feast day is September 13th.

#"Jacob! Jacob!" He answered

#"Here I am." Then he said: "I am God

#the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt

#for there I will make you a great nation. Not only will I go down to Egypt with you; I will also bring you back here

#after Joseph has closed your eyes." So Jacob departed from Beer-sheba

Staying Close to Jesus

One Does Not need to be a Catholic. One Needs to Stay Close to Jesus Daily.

By taking a hand held crucifix and kissing the feet of Jesus, saying the following prayer

Jesus I Believe That You Love Me.

I Believe That You Know Me.

AND

I Believe that you desire to be with me forever.

When your out and about and not in the presence of a crucifix, take the fore finger and thumb and bless your heart by kissing your thumb, and say this prayer immediately, God will get you through that moment.

It may sound dumb and stupid. "BUT"

It does work. IT DOES WORK.

Trusting in the Lord and keeping him close to your heart, Yes your Heart. Yes you can call out to Jesus to get you through that particular moment, crisis etc, but doing this special devotion daily can and will bring you through and closer to him.

You can call him a Higher Power, whatever, But staying close to our Lord and Believing he loves you, knows you, and you DESIRE, and WANT him to be with you FOREVER, He will besides you doing your calling to him to get you through the day, crisis, whatever.

Jesus is Lord of All.

He is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, and Lord of ALL. Get that personal relationship with him closer to your heart and never let it GO!!!
