Why all the materialism?

  • Most of us can barely afford our lifestyle or we are going into debt to do so. We scoff at meager blessings and wait for the big payoff. Everything costs so much more than it used to. Shelter, Clothing, Teechnology, Hygiene products, Food, Fuel... everything. What is the real cost? By not being thankful for the little we have are we not looking a gift horse in the mouth?

Happiness eludes us as we strive for joy and we overlook the middle ground of contentment.

By being okay with the good things in our life, we can attract miraculous joys.

Even in finding the good amidst suffering we can avoid sadness.

A warm blanket, some new shoes, watching something inspirational, a shower, a snack, being thankful for a ride.

these things get us ready to give to others because only when we are content or happy can we truly be kind. so many people let a negative attitude ruin meeting someone new. a bad mood isn't an excuse for sarcasm. like attracts like. be the change you want to see in the world, pick up that annoying peace of garbage. admire a tree the way you would a flower, stop and think of everything that tree has felt during its lifetime.

we are not even close to spiritual revolution, but most people act like a messiah is coming right around the corner.

Think about how someone is going to feel before you act.

    kindness begins with compassion.
