A moment in time

  • Yesterday I walked into a subway, two customers, three employees and a room full of gloom.  One customer ahead of me in the line, one sitting at a table.  I think to myself, "how can I possibly bring peace and joy to this room."

Another customer walks in and gets in line behind me.  While my sandwich is being prepared I overhear that he only wants coffee and it was apparent that he was working away from home.

When I go to pay for my order I turn towards the customer that is getting coffee, I bow to him and I ask him, "Would you be so kind Sir as to let me buy you your coffee."  He replied, "Thank you but I am getting 3 coffees."  I bowed again and replied, "That is ok, can I buy you 3 coffees then."  He looked at me in a speechless fashion and nodded his head in approval.  At this point another employee came up to the till also.  I bowed and payed for my order, then turned to the person getting the coffee, bowed to him and said, "Thank you kindly for allowing me to buy you coffee, may peace be with you.   He bowed and thanked me.  At this point you could feel the change within these three people, their "Light Within" shined and the aura of love surrounded them.  When I collected my till receipt I bowed again and both employees were smiling and bowed also.

When I left, the gloom was gone for three people and I could feel that the peace and joy would be carried forward with them.

One of the greatest blessings of all is to be able to bring the blessing of peace and joy to others by helping them connect with their "Light Within".

    May peace be with all.
